Abstract EN

The research includes four chapters, the first chapter is devoted to posing the research problem and its importance, in addition to the objective of the research in highlighting the role of cultural heritage in our lives as individuals through its inspiration for heritage topics and its use in contemporary artistic ideas and designs, as well as defining terminology.

the second chapter contained three sections, the first included inspiration in design, while the second topic included the concept of cultural heritage and its relationship in contemporary designs, while the third topic touched on the elements and foundations of carpet design.

the third chapter came with (research procedures), in which the research methodology was determined through the description and content analysis of the proposed models for carpet designs that the researcher designed.

the chapter also included the research community and its sample.

as for the fourth chapter, and based on what came from the analysis of the research sample, the researcher reached to identify a number of results, including that the inspiration from the Iraqi civilizational heritage and the aesthetics and artistic values it contains, and its use in contemporary carpet designs, contributes to enriching the innovative process.

in expanding the perceptions of the designer, as well as including conclusions, recommendations and suggestions.
