The events that the students of Anbar University were subjected to during the period of displacement and the Corona pandemic have had psychological effects on the level of people's thinking and choices which leads to mistakes in making the decisions this is due to bias towards variables that are in line with their interest regardless of whether they are harmful, Students will be drawn to simple matters without paying attention to academic aspects, which is a serious indication of how important these two variables are it lies in providing the theoretical basis for research on cognitive bias and mental motivation and then take appropriate measures to help the educational process adapt optimally in academic life while providing all scientific and practical requirements, the results of the current research can contribute to guiding researchers to develop guidance and training programs that raise the level of motivation, The current research aimed at identifying cognitive bias among students of Anbar University, the mental motivation of Anbar university students, the correlation between cognitive bias and mental motivation among Anbar University students, differences in the relationship between the level of cognitive bias and mental motivation depending on the Gender and specialization.

The researchers adopted the )Yasiri scale( by 41 paragraphs of cognitive bias and mental motivation test (California), and the current research sample consists of (200) students according to each scientific specialization by (96) students and (104) students, and the type by (78) males and (122) females and after using statistical methods to identify the psychometric characteristics of the scale, the researchers came up with many results the most important of which was that the sample has an average cognitive bias, and that the correlation between bias and mental motivation is counterproductive if mental motivation increases the cognitive bias is reduced and the study comes out with many suggestions and recommendations.
