Abstract EN

The educational system of any country is a reflection of the cultural and civilized level of the society.

This system is usually determined and directed by the political, economic and social organizations in society, as they depend on it in achieving their goals.

Providing the community with what it needs of educated human capabilities in all specialties and aspects of life to sustain the institutions in all their forms and in the different fields of their work, and the need to work on modernizing their programs and developing the capabilities of their workers, including teachers, employees and workers, and developing their administrative systems by keeping pace with developments in society using advanced administrative methods.

The aim of the research is to identify the reality of applying the requirements of governance in Iraqi universities as a modern administrative approach.

It also aims to address the requirements of university governance.

As for the limits of the research, it was determined in the College of Education for Pure Sciences Ibn Al-Haytham at the University of Baghdad and the College of Education for Humanities University of Anbar for the academic year 2021-2021 by using the research tool .

The questionnaire that was distributed to 102 teachers from the above colleges, which included (34) items.

Distributed in four areas: transparency, participation, accountability and independence, and a set of statistical methods were used to reach the results of the research and the use of the statistical bag (SPSS).

High level of knowledge of university governance requirements.

The researchers made several recommendations, including: Benefiting from successful global and regional experiences in applying the requirements of university governance.

And the establishment of decision-making processes by creating governing rules that adopt the requirements of governance in the matter, transparency, participation and independence to ensure the progress of the work of universities without interference from outside these rules.
