Abstract EN

Several factors contributed to the British interest in Libya, as its strategic location between the levant and Morocco and its middle north Africa facing the southern coast of Europe, in addition to securing air, land and sea communication with the middle east and west north Africa, made it, according to British calculations, an important military base to secure its influence reaching all over Europe.

according to the foregoing, the cultural and media issues in Libya represented one of the stations through which Britain sought to justify its presence and achieve its goals in the region, as it showed its interest and full intervention in the affairs of education, scientific missions, antiquities, the press, media and communications for the years (1943-1969).
