Abstract EN

the study aimed to prepare a list of the competencies of the Arabic language teacher for non native speakers, also to know the methods of measuring the practice of the Arabic language teacher for non-native speakers of competencies, and to present a proposed conception of the competencies of the Arabic language teacher for non-native speakers and the methods of measuring them.

To answer the questions of the study, the researcher used the descriptive analytical method, where he used the Delphi method, also the research tool was a list of the competencies of the Arabic language teacher for non-native speakers and the methods of measuring them, and it included five areas : personal competencies, scientific competencies, educational competencies, and cultural competencies.

The results showed a high percentage of agreement about the importance of competencies and their belonging to the fields under which they fall, ranging between (83%-100%), and with regard to the appropriate method for measuring competencies (observation interview document analysis questionnaire), the results of the research showed that the percentages the agreement ranged between (0%-100%), and the researcher adopted 66% of an appropriate agreement percentage to adopt the appropriate method for measuring each adequacy.

In the light of the research results, a proposed conception of the competencies of the Arabic language teacher for non-native speakers was developed, and the methods of measuring them.

The researcher presented a number of recommendations, the most important of which are : making use of the proposed conception; In identifying the aspects that institutes should take into account in preparing the Arabic language teacher for non-native speakers or training him on the job, and taking care of the personal interviews of teachers for applicants to institutes of teaching Arabic for non-native speakers, and providing Arabic language teaching institutes for non-native speakers with training programs for their new teachers who They had never taught the language before starting to teach, and the expansion of higher diploma programs to prepare the language teacher for non-native speakers in the institutes.
