Marital violence is a growing phenomenon, mainly caused by socio-cultural change.

It is considered as a social-pathological phenomena that is not specific to a particular culture, civilization or society.

it has become a massive threat to the society's social and cultural structure due to the damaging effects it has on the family which ultimately spreads to other parts of society.

And in response to this sort of violence, many organizations and associations were created to assist victims in coping with the aftermath.

The spouse that has more powerful resources is automatically put in a superior and dominant position over their partner and over the whole family which might lead them to be a victim of marital abuse by intentionally provoking their partner to subdue them.

Addressing the issue of marital violence academically has been limited to the common form where the husbands abuse their wives.

Therefore, throughout this article, we will be looking at the marital violence practiced by the victims.
