Abstract EN

This research is mainly concerned with the economic and social reasons for the delay in the age of marriage in the district of Al-Zubair.

The current project aims to shed light on recognizing the economic and social reasons for the delay in the marriage age, which has repercussions on the individual and society in general.

Therefore, marriage is costly in terms of exorbitant sums, high dowries, securing a home and furnishing it, compared to the few and weak capabilities of young people in providing for the costs of marriage.

Whereas for girls, marriage is represented by a personal choice conditional on the acceptance of families, as well as the completion of their education.

The study of the research found a high rate of delay in the age of marriage among young men and women.
