The research dealt with the argumentative techniques in Al-Athelh discourse in pre-Islamic poetry in the light of Perelman’s theory of al-hajjaj.

the comparison and the argument based on the reciprocal relationship and the argument based on the impossibility, and the second topic was devoted to the study of the arguments based on the structure of reality, as it included the argument of causation, the argument of waste, the argument of transcendence and the argument of authority, while the third topic included the arguments founding the structure of reality, as it included the arguments that invoke the common ones are like proverbs and legends, and inference through representation includes implicit simile and metaphor.
