In this article we have tried to study one of the Arabic dictionaries which has not received much attention, and it is a dictionary compiled by Abd al-Rahman al-Tha'alabi al-Jaza'iri, which he appended to his famous interpretation.

this study focused on two topics that have become important in modern linguistic studies: lexis and semantics.

in order to unveil this linguistic realization of heritage in its contemporary form, in an effort to highlight its lexical features and its semantic phenomena.

we have studied some patterns that we have chosen from the dictionary and we have tried to highlight the manifestations of phonological, morphological and semantic change.

we therefore chose certain manifestations of semantic change, such as restriction, generalization and transition.
