Abstract EN

There are postulates that have become axioms to enter into the knowledge of literary sects and currents.

the study of theatrical sects confirms that the new sect does not abolish the sect that came before it, but rather neutralizes it and puts it aside.

the new sect is the one that emerges in the arena.

the spread of the sect spatially does not necessarily have to exist in all countries of the world, but its spread appears in a country.

it disappears in another country, and theatrical sects are overlapping with each other.

it is not possible to isolate one sect from the other, because it considers the new sect as an extension of the one that preceded it.

hence, the current research focused on studying the effect of symbolism in Tawfik al-Hakim's theatrical texts.

the research included four chapters, which included the first chapter on the research problem based on the following question : what is the symbolic effect in Tawfiq al-Hakim's theatrical texts? while the importance of the research in revealing and reaching the results of the effect of symbolism in the texts of Tawfiq al-Hakim, and the need for it came as it benefits the specialists of authors, directors and students of the college of fine arts.

as for the second chapter, it contained three sections about me.

the first section deals with the concept of symbolism in literature.

the second topic deals with symbolism in the world theater.

the third topic deals with the life of Tawfiq al-Hakim and its creative effects.

as for the third chapter, it included the research community and the research sample, while the fourth chapter contained the results, conclusions, recommendations and suggestions.
