This article attempts to examine one of the theoretical innovations adopted by "Abdul Malik Murtadh" during his work on the critical time machine, or what he calls the "lost time." it also tries to bridge the gap between this concept and contemporary western critical approaches.

the study has some ambiguous points but also offers important results that reveal the limitations of major critical theories and their practical mechanisms, especially when exploring the concept of time in "Gerard Genette's" work.

this is particularly evident in the technique of duration, which is almost inadequate in analyzing other elements that contribute to deconstructing the literary text's temporality.

the study relies on description and analysis, based on the tools of meta-criticism, to stabilize the concepts and settle the study.
