In this paper, we discusses the political rights of women within feminist theory, by tracing the path of feminist discourse on the status of women, and its impact on the political demands of women in the west.

feminist discourse raised problems caused by the belief that women are not subordinate to men or have value only in the relationship with men.

feminist theory sets an agenda for defined for women, the aim of which is justice and equality in political rights between tow sexes, so this approach has yielded a number of hybrid currents, such as liberal feminism, Marxist feminism and socialist feminism.

within these currents, the concepts of the sexual revolution and sexual politics arose, which achieved political gains for the feminist movement, but these gains caused today other problems and challenges facing contemporary western women in various political, economic, social and psychological fields.
