This study aims to work on the phenomenon of textual thresholds in the contemporary Algerian novel through the threshold of the introductory discourse, modern critical studies, especially in the field of narratives, have witnessed a great and clear interest in this parallel text surrounding the text, the introduction speech is a basic procedural key in understanding and deciphering the narrative text, and provides a picture of it before the reading process, and inspires to continue, and can not be considered a naivety component (marginal), so the recipient must stop at these texts accompanying the narrative text, and we will try through this research paper, the vital role of this parallel text in diversifying the meaning and in shaping multiple reading dimensions that have interpretive value is demonstrated.
