The current study aims to identify the level of cognitive dissonance of the university student, based on the search for the causes of cognitive dissonance, and then move to the applied side, in which the study sample was estimated at: 117 male and female students (69 male and 48 female students).

the descriptive approach, and to achieve the objectives of the study, we used the cognitive dissonance scale consisting of (28) items, and the sample responses were statistically treated, as the results of the current study reached a general conclusion that the level of cognitive dissonance was medium, and that there was no cognitive dissonance level due to the gender variable, it also found that there are differences between colleges in the level of cognitive dissonance.
