Abstract EN

Health democracy was first an expression which was constructed as an echo of participatory democracy in the field of health, then it gradually found its place and acquired a real extension, since the appearance of the term “democracy sanitary” in the law of 4 march 2002, known as the “Kouchner law” relating to patients’ rights and the quality of the health system.

despite the difficulty of determining the precise characteristics of this expression, the aim of this article is to shed light on this combination between what is political and what is health, relying on the analytical approach to conclude that the objective of planning of health democracy is to allow a real interconnection between the actors of the health system in the development and implementation of health policy: the patient is no longer considered as a passive beneficiary of care, but rather as a productive part of the health system.
