Abstract EN

The people of Somalia under colonial domination suffered for a large period of ignorance and illiteracy in the field of education.

but we note that after the second world war a great development occurred in Africa after some European countries lost their position in Africa.

and the demand of some African countries for their independence from European controls and these demands were transferred to all African countries thanks to the national leaders who migrated to Europe and were briefed on developments in it so they returned to their countries carrying liberating ideas.

thanks to these ideas they took the European culture into Africa and demanded the advancement of all aspects of life the first of these manifestations was the development of education and the establishment of modern schools and the end of colonial schools that depended on teaching a small number of Somalis in order to serve them in order for Somalis to remain ignorant in all aspects of life and the continued dependence on European countries in managing their affairs.

the research is divided into three sections.

in the first section, we dealt with education under Italian guardianship in Somalia (1950 1960).

as for the second topics we dealt with government education in Somalia (1950 1960).

as for the third topics they dealt with educational curricula during the colonial period.
