Abstract EN

The article aims to give a general view on the maternity insurance system, which covers a very important period in the life of the working woman, because during it she urgently needs care, both materially and morally.

at the internal level, the Algerian legislator complied with international texts by recognizing the right to maternity insurance and defining its content and the general framework for obtaining it.

therefore, the study aims to identify the conditions and procedures set by Algerian law for a working woman to be entitled to this insurance and to obtain compensation that covers the period of childbirth.

it concluded that the legislator set a strict condition that deprived her of receiving cash compensation when she was absent from work without justification during pregnancy.
