Maintaining the purchasing power of the consumer is a priority of the Algerian state's social policy, given its role in maintaining social peace and political stability, and its impact on the country's economic development and its implications for the internal situation and even Algeria’s regional and international role by strengthening the home front in the face of external challenges, in order to establish a legal system to provide the necessary protection for the purchasing power of the consumer to ensure an acceptable standard of living, however, the question remains about the effectiveness of this system from the economic side, which we concluded lacks a long-term economic vision that meets the requirements of sustainable development.
