French colonialism strengthened its presence in Algeria by relying on its press releases, which made the Algerian elite stand on the danger of the press in promoting colonial policy, and in contrast to the importance of the latter in defending the rights and freedom of the Algerian people, and initiated press releases that are the mouthpiece of the national movement that emerged as an alternative to armed resistance, and this after many reasons have matured, and the Arab press has registered its presence strongly in many positions and issues that the National movement has advocated as well as the response to the laws.

this was reflected in the leaders of the national movement, who were imprisoned, exiled and tortured, but despite this restriction, they have achieved many achievements, the most important of which is to awaken the national liberal consciousness through national parties and clubs, as well as to preserve the nation's constituents in its Arab and Islamic dimension.
