The main purpose of writing this research is to shed light on a very important topic, which is the period of child custody, due to the connection of this topic to the life of the child at a certain age and the large number of its occurrence in society and the material and moral consequences that it has, and that these effects are reflected on the life of the child in custody.

the study of the period of child custody was written in the style of a comparative study by clarifying the jurisprudential opinions of Islamic schools and comparing them with the legal texts of the Iraqi personal status law.

the importance of the nursery period emerges from the interest in raising the child properly and in accordance with Islamic standards and values in order for him to grow up on sound moral foundations and remain committed to these values and preserve them in the later stages of his life to be a "good" individual in society.
