Abstract EN

The present study aims to identify the role of the psychologist in dealing with personality disorders from the perspective of those who visit psychological services centers in Riyadh, and to identify differences in the role of the psychologist in dealing with personality disorders among those who frequent psychological services centers according to gender and age group.

the study used the descriptive approach, the study was limited to four personality disorders (avoidant-dependency-borderline-psychopathy), through a scale that was applied to a sample of (97) frequent psychiatric clinics who were randomly selected from those who visit psychological services centers in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

the results indicated that the arithmetic averages of the responses of the sample members about the role of the psychologist in dealing with personality disorders from the perspective of those who frequent the psychological services centers in Riyadh were medium, and the results of the research indicated that there are no statistically significant differences at the level of (0.05) among the responses of the sample members about the role of the psychologist in dealing with personality disorders from the perspective of those who frequent the psychological services centers in Riyadh attributed to the two variables (gender-age group).

the most important recommendations were the necessity of paying attention to the profession of psychologist by holding workshops and intensive training courses on dealing with personality disorders and cope with developments in the field of psychologist, and the necessity of having a psychologist in all government institutions in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
