This study focuses on highlighting the role of the abundant desert oases in the ancient Maghreb, where Garamantes played a significant civilizational role in the interior areas.

Garamantes are residents of the middle of the ancient Libyan desert, their capital, Djerma, in the Fezzan region, the Garamantian kingdom imposed itself on the invading foreign forces, and the Garamantes dealt with the Carthaginians and then by the romans.

commercial intermediation between the northern and southern regions led to the prosperity of the Garamantian kingdom and its oases.
