In the field of arbitration related to the contract of maritime carriage of goods, the selection of the arbitrator is subject to the power of will, so the parties to the dispute are free to appoint the arbitrator, but this freedom is relatively restricted, as there are some conditions that must be met by the arbitrator who is chosen, and without them being met, his award will be invalid or voidable.

For annulment, the aim of this study is to identify the conditions that must be observed and taken into account when selecting the arbitrator in order to bring the arbitration process to an end and implement the arbitration award without obstacles.
