The nickname of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) (Abu Turab) aroused the interest of orientalists and they tried to re-read the Islamic narration based on the wide debate in Islamic sources about that nickname, and the reasons for its release, or the occasion on which it was said, or who called it until it became one.

whoever loved his nickname to him, and his supporters and lovers became attributed to that nickname to distinguish them from others, so the study will try to identify the orientalist interest in that nickname and then try to reach a sound opinion that matches the reason for that nickname.
