The issue of the relations of the Yemeni Arab Republic with the Soviet Union is a vital issue, given the great international power represented by the Soviet Union, which assumed the leadership of the eastern camp in the Cold War conflict with the western camp led by the United States of America.

In addition, it is one of the topics that must be shed light on because of the events in it related to an important historical stage of the world's events represented by the Cold War.

Especially that signs of weakness and dissolution began to appear on the Soviet Union.

Starting in 1984, the unrest reached a large extent due to the transitional period that was preparing for it after the death of the Soviet leader Brezhnev.

Of course, these developments were reflected in one way or another on the Yemeni arena, especially as the Yemeni government continues to exploit international conditions to serve its interests.

Therefore, this study aimed to clarify the course of the relations between the Yemen Arab Republic and the Soviet Union in the light of the internal, regional and international political changes that accompanied these relations, and to reveal the stages of their development, establishment and improvement, and the stages of their decline, and an attempt to identify the most important determinants and influences that directed this path in terms of respect.
