Abstract EN

The aim of the current research is to identify the Dispositional optimism among university students, and to identify the significance of the differences in Dispositional optimism among university students according to the variable of gender (male-female) and specialization (human-scientific).

In order to achieve the objectives of the research, a sample of (900) male and female students was selected, who were chosen by the stratified random method of equal distribution from the University of Basra, as the researcher built a scale for this variable.

The current research reached a number of results, namely: 1.

University students enjoyed Dispositional optimism.

2.

There are no statistically significant differences in Dispositional optimism among university students according to the variable of gender and specialization.
