The main objective of the research is to study and analyze the ZEMCH approach and its role in achieving a sustainable competitive advantage in the economic units operating in the construction sector.

and construction, especially the ZEMCH approach, and its inability to provide environmentally friendly products in light of the spread of a culture of sustainability and sustainable construction.

in order to address the research problem and achieve its objectives, the ZEMCH approach was chosen to achieve sustainable competitive advantage in the field of building and construction through the provision of sustainable buildings.

then, alternative sustainable proposals were presented in the implementation of construction projects in the Iraqi environment in order to achieve a sustainable competitive advantage.

the research concluded with a set of conclusions, the most important of which are: presenting possible sustainable building proposals and alternatives instead of many traditional materials used, starting from choosing the site and preparing the land for construction, passing through the use of environmentally friendly (sustainable) building materials and ending with the use of renewable energy and energy saving, and the search for more sustainable alternatives before the search for the least expensive alternatives, and this in turn led to the proposed alternatives being high in costs, but their sustainability is better, and calculating the benefits of sustainability cannot be calculated simultaneously and compared to the costs, but rather that the benefits of sustainability are obtained over many years and in many forms and forms.
