This study aims to highlight the reality of Islamic banking in western countries along its various paths, starting with monitoring the most important western calls for the adoption of Islamic banking at the international level, then identifying the main motives of the international trend toward Islamic banking, as well as the efforts of these countries to activate Islamic banking.

in the end, we will review the industry’s most important challenges.

the study concluded that western countries had differentiated in the degree of interest in Islamic banking.

some countries had been proactive in opening up to Islamic banking before the global financial crisis of 2008, such as Britain and Luxembourg, while other experiences saw the first steps as they did not open to Islamic banking until after this crisis such as Spain, Denmark, and Sweden.
