This study seeks, by focusing on teaching poetic texts for the first year students from secondary education, to reveal the extent to which the text approach is achieved through the embodiment of the text standards represented in: cohesion, coherence, intentionality, informatively, acceptability, status, and intertextuality, where these standards confirm the textually of the text and enable us to distinguish text from non-text, and through the study and analysis of these dimensions from four texts, it belongs to successive literary eras, and we have concluded that the book in its discussion of these texts focused on the norms of: cohesion and coherence in the first place, followed by status and intertextuality in a lesser extent, with the prejudice in the right of other text standards such as informatively, acceptability, and intentionality, as the teaching of poetic texts requires focusing on all text standards due to their importance in education.
