Abstract EN

The study aims to identify the implications of employing augmented and virtual reality technologies on the quality of media treatment of the Russian-Ukrainian war in the “Assaa Sitoun” program on “al Arabiya channel”.

by trying to highlight the importance of employing augmented and virtual reality applications and their role in improving and supporting the quality of news content by applying to the subject of the Russian-Ukrainian war.

the study relied on the survey method and the content analysis tool, which was applied to a purposive sample included in 15 episodes of the same program.

the study reached several results, the most important of which are: the media treatment of the Russian-Ukrainian war was characterized by diversity and vitality in the topics of the Russian-Ukrainian war, as the “Assaa Sitoun” program employed augmented and virtual reality technologies for the purpose of supporting and diversifying the provision of journalistic investigations, including what is reflected in the image quality with the success of visual dazzle.

however, this does not prevent there is no living neighborhood and its treatment of the war with a kind of familiar bias towards Ukraine at the expense of Russia, which shows us that artificial intelligence and its applications also remain our double-edged sword.
