Printing has been a means of communication since ancient times, because it has revolutionized human history in terms of developments in all fields, as it is the most successful tool in spreading culture among peoples, as well as its developments in terms of intellectual, scientific, social and economic aspects.

All that we do today of work and papers are printed publications, which means that they represent the process of copying writing on paper in a way that may be manual or mechanical, but what we see thanks to technological developments, printing has become today mechanical working with modern advanced machines by linking them to techniques the computer.

Therefore, this research aims to study the concept of printing language, terminology, media and production, in addition to studying the stages of its emergence, methods, types and divisions, as well as the history of printing in the West and the Arabs, as well as its emergence in Iraq.
