Abstract EN

The research deals with the term (quoting the speakers’ words to argue against them) which is a rhetorical basic term, and is one of the common terms in argumentation and debate.

This research deals with an explanation of the effect of this term on interpretation, and its prominence in argumentation and debate between the prophets and their people, and in the arguments presented against opponents of the Qur’an.

The research revealed the importance of applied studies on rhetorical and basic terminology, and the attention of some interpreters to use these terms while interpreting the Holy Qur’an, especially in the footnotes of the books of exegeses.

Theoretical studies rely on repeated examples, and perhaps they are limited to the poetry of the Arabs without including any Quranic examples.

In this applied study, I have analyzed seventeen examples of ‘quoting speakers words’, fifteen of which proved the use of this term in exegesis.

And that is achieved by crosschecking these examples with the words of the predecessors and interpreters.

Among the most important recommendations of the study is that linguists and exegesis specialists try to publish a scientific encyclopedia to include the rhetorical basic terms mentioned in the books of exegesis.

Researchers can benefit from applied studies in these different sciences related to books of exegesis and Qur’anic examples to enrich genuine research.
