Among the modern trends embraced by Arab family legislation is to establish the marital relationship on the basis of equality between spouses and cooperation between them, especially after the adoption of this legislation in its recent amendments to the principles brought forth by international conferences and agreements, foremost of which is the convention on the elimination of forms of discrimination against women, without forgetting the social and economic changes that it occurred in the Arab society and family.

among the aspects that we have seen in this change is the issue of involving the wife in family spending and bearing her part of the family financial consequences, so we need to clarify the jurisprudential opinion and the legal position on this issue, especially if it comes to the working wife as well as the alimony for the children.
