The eloquence of argumentative discourse in three selected appeasement poems by Omer bin Abi Rabia This research investigates the tools of argumentative approach in the analysis of three selected poems by the Umayyad poet Omar ibn Abi Rabia, the type of poetry described as appeasement or traditional love poetry.

no doubt appeasement discourse requires a special selection of emotional words in a smart argument that is capable of winning the satisfaction of the other party and taking into account the psychological side of the addressee, the main question in this study is: what is the plan contained in the chosen poems to win the beloved heart and get her satisfaction? relying on argumentative approach found in "new rhetoric", this study reveals the argumentative tools that are used to build a poem.

the result is that the argumentative approach with its theoretical analytical base is capable of revealing the addressor's persuasive strategies and plans and that these strategies cannot be equally influential as its effect is strongly related to how far or near it is from the major topic.

moreover, it is related to the receiver's conditioned interaction with it and his or her creative and cultural abilities.
