Abstract EN

Research Summary The study aimed to find out the extent to which visual thinking skills are included in the developed mathematics textbook for the fifth grade in Jordan, in its two parts for the academic year 2021/2022.

The research sample included all the pictures included in the mathematics book of all kinds, which numbered (257).

The study tool, which was represented in the content analysis card, was prepared, and its validity and reliability were verified.

The results of the study showed that the extent of inclusion of the main visual thinking skills as a whole was medium with a percentage of 44.08%, while the skill of recognizing the shape came in the first place with a percentage of (59.79%), followed by the skill of analyzing information with a percentage of (58.88%) in the second place.

Then the skill of visual discrimination with a percentage of (45.91 %) in the third place, and in the fourth place the skill of linking relationships with a percentage of (37).

74%), and the skill of extracting meanings ranked fifth with a percentage of (36.18%), and finally the skill of interpreting information with a percentage of (24.64 %), and this indicates the availability of visual thinking skills in the mathematics book for the fifth grade in varying proportions.

In light of these results, a number of relevant recommendations and proposals were presented.
