Abstract EN

The study aimed to identify the level of knowledge of social studies teachers for post-basic education in the Sultanate of Oman about epidemics.

in addition to revealing the impact of the gender variable, specialization, years of experience, governorate, the rate of follow-up on covid 19 news, sources of obtaining health information during the pandemic, and the extent of commitment to preventive measures.

the study descriptive method by preparing a knowledge test consisting of six axes, namely: the concept of epidemics, the history of epidemics, the causes of the spread of epidemics, the implications of the spread of epidemics, methods of treating epidemics, the role of the Sultanate of Oman in fighting epidemics.

applied on a sample of (200) social studies teachers in the Sultanate of Oman.

the results revealed that teachers 'knowledge of epidemics was low.

and that there were no statistically significant differences in the level of knowledge of epidemics attributed to the variable of specialization, the rate of follow-up on Covid-19 news, the sources of obtaining health information during the pandemic, the extent of commitment to preventive measures, and the presence of differences in the rest of the variables of the study.
