Abstract EN

The study sought to identify the levels of reading comprehension required for postgraduate students in the college of education at King Faisal University, and to identify the degree of availability of reading comprehension levels for postgraduate students, and to determine whether or not there are statistically significant differences between the average levels of reading comprehension among postgraduate students due to the years of experience using the descriptive survey method, and through the questionnaire applied to a sample of (154) male and female postgraduate students by 20% of the study population consisted of (773) regular students in (7) departments in the college, and through the use of the SPSS statistical analysis program, then the arithmetic averages and standard deviations were extracted.

through the analysis of the single discrepancy to clarify the differences between the averages, it was concluded that the levels of reading comprehension required for postgraduate students are represented in the level of logical comprehension, and the level of inferential comprehension, critical understanding, and creative comprehension level.

there is a large degree of availability of reading comprehension levels for the study sample according to the following order: logical, deductive, critical, and creative.

the study recommends to continue organizing workshops to develop the necessary skills for those enrolled in postgraduate programs, as it plays a great role in raising reading comprehension and suggests building a program to raise reading, critical and creative comprehension among postgraduate students at the college of education.
