Iraq in general and the study area in particular suffers from high temperatures and the impact of dry winds and the frequency of dust storms in the central and southern regions in particular and the whole of Iraq in general, and therefore the spread of desertification manifestations as a result of the dryness of the soil and its lack of resistance to erosion factors, which facilitates its separation and the loss of organic matter in the soil, not to mention its separation and transfer to other places, as well as the increased salinity of the soil and the formation of sand dunes and undoubtedly the transformation of arable land into unsuitable land for agriculture And gradually from Lack of production, high salinity and the spread of unpalatable plants in the region as well as the spread of dust phenomena significantly in recent times, which called for the need to carry out this study and what requires understanding its environmental, economic, social, health and possibly political effects in the present and future, to reach effective means to reduce the negative effects and achieve tangible results in reducing the increase in temperature and dust on the one hand and the advancement of the environment and this Nowadays it requires the use of modern technologies in the process of scanning terrestrial manifestations through remote sensing data and geographic information systems, which has given the integrated survey a very huge potential represented by modern geographical technologies, remote sensing (RS) and geographic information systems (GIS) software, to the seriousness of this phenomenon, which is putting the lives of hundreds of millions at risk as its area expands globally and at an accelerated pace day by day.
