This paper aims to highlight the realities of renewable energies in Algeria and their importance in achieving sustainable development by addressing some of Algeria's potential in this area and identifying the production of electricity from renewable energies during the period 2012 2021.

through the study, Algeria has made an effort to exploit renewable energies through the establishment of a number of bodies.

it has also been concluded that the exploitation of renewable energies in Algeria remains weak despite the fact that it possesses large quantities of these renewable, clean and environmentally friendly resources through weak production of renewable energies, especially wind and hydropower.
