We shed light in this research on one of the important revolutions in Europe, the Portuguese revolution, which represented a great challenge to the positions of the countries of the Western camp towards it.

As it came in the midst of one of the most important phases of the Cold War, which escalated the pace of the stance towards it by the left-wing orientation of those in charge of it, which feared that the Soviet Union would have a role in it, and accordingly European stances on it varied, but the remarkable thing is the British stance, which was on the exact opposite of the position of the United States of America, while the British government dealt with calm and transparency from that revolution, the American government resorted to the methods of escalation and threats from it, but what won in the end was the British position, which dealt wisely with the developments in the political situation in Portugal in order to push Her government is about establishing a democratic rule in which the various political factions and forces in Portugal take their share in the government.
