Abstract EN

Al-Mahdarah was one of the education systems in al-Andalus, al-Maghrib and Ifriqiyah.

However, despite its important historical scientific, cultural and rehabilitation role in al-Andalus and the Maghrib, it did not receive its fair share of study by both old-and modern-time researches and authors except for some recent studies that unveiled its historical, scientific and educational role in Ifriqiyah and the Maghrib.

this research examines the identification of the linguistic and verbal derivation of al-Mahdarah, the origin, the historical circumstances that accompanies its spread, as well as its role during the political changes and upheavals that al-Andalus went through between (4th-7th Century / 10th-13th Century A.D).

this paper, also seeks to investigate the origin, development and the circumstance that shrouded this education system.

this paper also seeks to explore the scientific and cultural impact of al-Mahdarah within Al-Andalus and the expansion of its effects outside al-Andalus to Ifriqiyah and the Maghtib.
