Abstract EN

This research attempts to limit the peculiar characteristics of the novella as well as to discover it in the novel of Faraba by Abdul Mun’im al-Ameer.

in its changes, the narration has been submitted to the working mechanism in it's different types as the novel are unquiet literary genre in its historical growing after a narrative change has occurred in its artistic course throughout two justifications: the first one is external has to do with the reality while the second is internal related to the self (person)and it's desire is to the surpass and to the difference.

this change includes the artistic elements:(the characters, the events and the setting) which has related to the following techniques :(intertextuality, irony and the stream of consciousness … etc.) in a narrative language which come closer to the poetic language.

concerning Faraba novel, here the researcher has dealt with the semiotic of the title, the perusal instructor, the structure of the characters, the events the setting and the language, then he concluded that Faraba is separated from the perusal instructor (the novel) and it belongs to another one called “novella” depending upon its artistic conditions that is consisted of elements and techniques related to each other.
