Abstract EN

In its sixth edition, the Arab development report focuses on the crises that shook the economies of the world, and their various repercussions on the economies of the Arab region, especially the COVID-19 epidemic and its significant negative effects on economic growth, and the economic and social challenges posed by this situation in the Arab region.

in this context, the report provided an analytical framework for the economic and social reality in the countries of the Arab region, a review of measures and policies for dealing with the pandemic and its repercussions compared to some global measures, and then presented the approaches to governance and crisis management (especially the COVID-19 pandemic and the Russian-Ukrainian crisis) in the Arab countries.

the report also suggested starting points for Arab economic growth, and policies to complete recovery from crises, in order to enhance the growth, resilience, and sustainability of Arab economies.

thus, the report concluded by proposing a (policy-based) framework aimed at achieving comprehensive and sustainable economic growth, through several starting points, including: continuing structural reforms aimed at enhancing resilience in the face of crises, and creating jobs with the aim of addressing short-and long-term challenges and imbalances in the Arab countries, with provide levels of integration and coordination between the processing policy frameworks within their time scale as well as areas of influence.
