Abstract EN

The research attempts to provide theoretical approaches to the political economy of poverty in the Egyptian context, by linking it to the pattern of growth and social reproduction prevailing in Egypt for almost half-century ago, and how the rentier dependency deepened the poverty situation through the tributaries of production and distribution together, by weakening the growth of the first quantitatively and structurally and deviating the path of the second in favor of ownership at the expense .of the work the research begins with criticizing the prevailing criteria of poverty, proposing a different criterion that stems structurally and historically from the prevailing social system and is consistent with its ruling logic, then discusses the social contradictions of the issue of poverty, referring in its context to the issue of distribution as a heart for the problem of poverty.

after that analyzes the issue in the Egyptian context, by analyzing the political economy of the backwardness of the socio-economic pattern quantitatively and qualitatively.

subsequently examine the microeconomic and institutional dynamics of that Egyptian poverty, by discussing the state form within that socio-economic pattern, and its role in promoting and sustaining poverty instead of treating it, and ends with a recommendation to change the direction of research interest about poverty towards the political-economic structural dimensions within a methodology that deliberately solves the problem beginning.
