Abstract EN

This study aimed at identifying the reasons behind the declining results of eighth grade pupils in "trends in international mathematics and science study" (TIMSS) in north eastern Badia from the point of view of mathematics teachers.

the descriptive analytical method was used, the study sample consisted of (116) teachers who were selected randomly, using a questionnaire which consisted of (29) items after the confirmation of the validity and reliability.

the study results showed that the reasons Dehind the declining results of eighth grade pupils in "trends in international mathematics and science study" (TIMSS) in north Eastrn Badia were medium.

the teacher domain came in first rank followed by the curriculum domain in the second rank and the parents’ domain came in third rank and finally, the student domain came in last rank.

the study also showed that there were statistically significant differences in the reasons behind the declining results of eighth grade pupils in TIMSS in north Eastren Badeia according to of experience variable in favor of long experience (more than 10 years), and there were no statistically significant differences in the reasons behind the declining results of eighth grade pupils in TIMSS in north eastren badeia according to the gender variable.

in light of the consequences of the study, the researcher recommended a set of recommendations.
