Abstract EN

This study aimed to identify the degree the role of the knowledge society requirements in developing the skills of administrative jobs for the principals of government schools in Jerash, The researcher followed the descriptive approach, and the study sample consisted of all school principals in Jerash Governorate, who numbered (177), and applied a questionnaire consisting of (32) items distributed on four domains.

The results showed that the arithmetic averages of the responses of the study sample members on each of the domains of the requirements of the knowledge society ranged between (2.67-3.69), where the domain of "the positives of employing the requirements of the knowledge society in administrative jobs" ranked first among the domains with mean (3.69) ranked in a high degree of appreciation, followed by the "obstacles to employing the requirements of the knowledge society in administrative jobs", with a mean (3.69) and in a high degree of appreciation, thirdly, the “Employment and Dissemination of Knowledge in Administrative Jobs”, with an arithmetic average (7.69) and in medium degree of appreciation, and finally, the “Production and generation of knowledge in administrative jobs” domain came with an arithmetic average (2.67) and in medium degree of estimation, and the total arithmetic average of the knowledge society requirements domains was (3.15).) with a medium degree.

The researcher recommended the adoption of a training program for school principals in Jerash Governorate that includes the skills of the knowledge society requirements and the possibility of employing them in administrative and educational jobs.

Raising the administrative and technical competencies of managers in line with contemporary scientific and educational developments.
