The research aims to identify the provisions of international humanitarian law and the mechanisms adopted by the United Nations Commission for the Protection of Minorities in Iraq during the armed conflicts that erupted after 2014, and which were reflected in the resolutions of the UN Security Council and the organizations associated with it in their effectiveness in protecting minorities, especially as they were based on Chapter VII of the Charter The United Nations is enforceable, which has greatly contributed to strengthening the protection of minorities and guaranteeing their rights.

The guarantees of international humanitarian law, through the texts and rules contained therein, have also contributed to strengthening that protection by urging countries, including Iraq, to abide by its texts and principles, as well as ensuring its respect, enforcement, and integration into national legislation.
