Abstract EN

Iraqi society has gone through difficult conditions ،especially after 2003.

These conditions have adverse effects on the role of women and the extent of their empowerment in various areas of life.

Despite the presence of international organizations and bodies that support women’s rights ،the status of Iraqi women within society is still dominated by the ideas of patriarchal authority that deprive them of participating in decision-making and obtaining prestigious positions.

However, in spite of all the societal and tribal shackles, Iraqi women have succeeded in breaking down many of the social and political barriers and proving themselves as significant actors on several fronts of life.

Therefore, this study aims to identify Iraqi women's state and the most important obstacles that impede women’s empowerment in society.

Further, the study Introduces the role of the United Nations and humanitarian organizations in supporting and empowering women and provides statistical indicators in light of the scale of Iraqi women's empowerment.

The research reached a set of results ،including that Iraqi women need general empowerment that includes comprehensive development in all its aspects at different levels (such as health ،education ،social care ،housing and the economic aspect).

Its representation is very limited to simple sites that do not live up to their proper position.
