Abstract EN

The current research aims to determine the necessary skills for history teachers at the secondary level, as the research sample consisted of (1) teachers, with (114) teachers in the secondary schools of the First Rusafa Education Directorate and (4) teachers in the second Rusafa in Baghdad Governorate, distributed among (VV) schools.

Including (1) secondary schools in the first Rusafa (11) secondary schools in the second Rusafa for the academic year (TTT-TT) which constituted the study community for the researcher, and they were chosen randomly.

The researcher used the descriptive approach, and the researcher adopted the Abdul scale (1) for skills consisting of () items distributed over three areas, with (1) items for the field of learning and creativity skills.

And (1) paragraphs for the field of life and occupation skills, and (1) paragraphs for the field of skills, technical information and media.

The researcher used a number of statistical methods appropriate to the subject of the study, which is the use of Pearson correlation coefficient to find the relationship between the first and second application of the questionnaire to calculate the stability coefficient for each of them, as well as The percentage to find the percentage of the sample for the total research community and convert the frequencies for each paragraphs of the questionnaire into percentages to find out their value and determine the apparent validity of the tool.

The weighted mean equation was used to arrange the paragraphs and know the strengths and weaknesses in them and the percentage weight equation to show the relative value of each paragraph and the arrangement of the paragraphs in general and the interpretation of the results.

Using the statistical package (SPSS) for statistical operations.

In light of the research results, the researcher concluded the following : Most of the history teachers in the secondary schools in the province of Baghdad Al-Rusafa, the first and the second, do not use modern educational techniques in presenting their lessons.

-The weakness of the effectiveness of the developmental and qualifying courses for history teachers to develop their various skills in education and to keep pace with technological innovations.

-The presence of a small number of teachers who are keen to encourage students to research and investigate and read external sources related to the subject.

-The impact of the Corona pandemic on educational institutions, which negatively affected teachers and students alike.

Schools' overcrowding with students and double shifts greatly affected the development of teaching methods for history teachers.
