Abstract EN

The current research aims to know : Cognitive empathy among educational counselors.Statistically significant differences in the cognitive empathy of educational counselors according to the gender variable (males, females).

The current research has identified educational counselors (males - females) who are part of the permanent owners (primary secondary) of the Diwaniyah Education Directorate, and in the Diwaniyah Governorate for the academic year (2021-2022).

To achieve the research objectives, the researcher sought to : 1.

Using the descriptive approach to reveal cognitive empathy.

Building a measure of cognitive empathy for educational counselors based on the theory of mind (T.O.M)), and after completing the psychometric characteristics, it included (19) items.

After completing the psychometric characteristics, the scale included (30) To complement that, the researcher applied the two scales to a sample of (300) male and female counselors in the administrative departments of the General Directorate of Diwaniyah Education were selected in a simple random way according to the proportional method, and after collecting data, and processing them statistically by using the Statistical Portfolio for Social Sciences (SPSS)).

Search for the following results: 1.

The presence of cognitive sympathy among educational counselors.

2.

The cognitive sympathy of male educational counselors is greater than that of females.

According to the results of the current research, the researcher came up with a number of recommendations, including suggestions: 1- Preparing training programs to develop the cognitive abilities of educational counselors.2- Include monthly seminars held by educational counselors with topics on cognitive empathy.

3- Consolidating the concept of cognitive empathy among students by educational counselors, and giving the two concepts great importance.

4- Conducting a training program to develop cognitive empathy for educational counselors.

5- Conducting a practical study similar to the current study on another community, such as teachers, teachers or students.
